IPM PROGRESSIVE LABOUR RELATIONS PROGRAMME

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this progressive and dynamic two-day workshop is ensure the holistic application of the South African labour laws in the workplace to promote sound and collaborative labour relations. In addition the workshop will assist employers in understanding the impact of labour legislation on business operations as well associated risks and how to mitigate them. Landmark cases will be shared to demonstrate how strategic management of labour relations could give a company a competitive advantage.

The inter-relatedness of the following laws will explored and analysed in detail: Basic Conditions of Employment; Employment Equity Act; Broad Based Black Economic Act; Employment Services Act; Labour Relations Act.

 Delegates will have a deep appreciation of:

  • How South African labour laws have been formulated
  • How the Labour Court functions
  • Factors that influence Labour Court judgments
  • How to manage labour relations effectively and significantly reduce litigation costs and
  • The procedural and substantive best practice
