Most of us face moments when we fee a bit sort on motivation. This can happen on assignments or projects that are particularly challenging, or perhaps even when you are trying to accomplish a task that just seems out of reach.
Stephen Key from Entrepreneur.com provides a few of his simple tips for staying motivated, so we’re sharing some of them with you here.
- Feed your soul.
What makes you happy and energises you?
Is it being with positive and supportive people? If so, keep in touch with them, get their feedback and ideas for doing things in a new way, and involve them in what you are doing. Conversation and collaboration could make all the difference.
Does feeding your soul mean taking time out to do something you love?
What ever it is, find something that does it for you, and build time for it.
- Keep the big picture in mind.
Don’t forget that for all things there is a larger purpose. What’s yours? Write it down somewhere you can see it.
- Ask for help
Colleagues, your boss, someone in another department, can they help? Ever considered a mentor? Maybe it’s time!
- Give back
On that note, ever considered how you give back? Could you be a mentor?
Sometimes we really do get stuck into what we are doing, or what we are trying to achieve within our own sphere. Finding a way to help someone else provides great perspective, and almost always develops you as a person too. Donate your time, give back.
Finally – we’ve included a few quotes from inspirational people to energise you. Enjoy them!
Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later.
You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.
Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.

Put your heart, mind, and soul into even your smallest acts. This is the secret of success.
