As a SAQA accredited professional body, IPM is committed to helping people managers and HR practitioners advance their skills and build the capability of organisations. We offer a programme of breakfast sessions, courses, workshops, seminars, summits and conferences to meet your personal and professional needs.
All the events that we run are designed to assist with making you a more effective and informed practitioner. And we offer these at a range of levels, whether you are just starting out in your career, or networking at a strategic level to develop responses and solutions to global and local trends that impact business. We aim to provide a space for practical application of new thinking to real workplace issues. And if you are an IPM member, you qualify for a discount on all our programmes, run in conjunction with global and South African experts.
New in our programme for 2016 is the Crucial Debate Series
The first Crucial Debate takes place on 16 March and the focus is on Labour Issues. This session will consider the voice of labour and business in robust and frank debate. On the 17th, we look at education, particularly education that prepares learners for workplace readiness. We will consdier cooperation between tertiary institutions, business, government and professional bodies, and this session aims to generate a prototype to benefit students, business and ultimately, the country. These sessions will not shy from asking the tough questions, and answering them with different options. Indeed we believe it is the only way to action change.
Over the course of the year we are running an HR Business Partner Master Class on HR driving shareholder value, the HR Directors Summit, a Change Readiness Course, a breakfast session on Critical Thinking Skills, a Talent Management Master Class and an HR Metrics Workshop. August features the Women in Business Conference in collaboration with GIBS. In November it is already time for the “grand show” of people management and HR Profession in Africa – the 60th IPM Convention and Exhibition. Our line-up draws local and international speakers and guests. There will be an early bird rate for this event, making it possible to open access to the covention for more of your employees. Watch out for more details as the year unfolds. This is just a snapshot of what we offer.
Don’t forget that with IPM Membership, you can get recognised by applying for your Professional Designations
In addition to the events programme, IPM confers Professional Designations on HR professionals. The Professional Designations are only available to those in active membership.
